1 Corinthians 9:27 (KJV)  But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Jude 1:20 (KJV)  But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

The more you pray, the more spiritual power you attain. The more you pray, the more you build up spiritually. You cannot successfully overcome the body if you are not prayerful; you may overcome it in some little issues, but you cannot resist it when greater temptations come your way. If Jesus prayed at his darkest hour, who are we to think we do not need prayer as darkness covers this world? Prayer must not be seen as a choice, but a must. How strong you are spiritually, is a reflection of your prayer life; you cannot be stronger than  your prayer life. If you pray a few minutes a day, that is how strong you are, to contend with your body. Just like a bodybuilder in the gym, the more the exercises, the stronger he becomes; likewise, the more we pray, the more we build our spiritual muscles to gain strength to push the body down. To be continued.

May we choose to be prayerful in these evil days. Have a blessed Thursday.

Prayer: Ask for the grace to have a passion and desire to pray.
