Proverbs 6:16, 19 (KJV)  These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Some people can lie freely and even do so under oath in court. It may seem those are extreme, but we can be caught in the trap of lying to defend or implicate someone. When it comes to lying, it is not just the spoken words, but the written words too. These days with social media, written lies are even what we have to be concerned about more. False news and hoax stories are generated and shared, without any guilt. Recently, the Spirit drew my attention to the issue of sharing false news: we are also guilty if we share a lie without verifying. We become false witnesses to a false news, which is a lie anyway. God definitely cannot be pleased with the spreading of lies for whatever reason. We must bring the fear of God in our social media life as well. We may think lying in real life is bad, but OK when on social media. We might have made mistakes in the past, but it is time to move on to doing what is right.

May we be mindful of our words in speech and writing, because God sees and hears. Have a blessed Friday.

Prayer: Forgive me for things I have said, written or shared that are not true. I want to do what is right, so please help me.
