Proverbs 6:16-17 (KJV)  These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood

Pride is something that can easily creep into anyone. We must do all we can to guard against it, because it is a destroyer. Sometimes one may think it is only the rich that are proud; no. Pride can originate from being in an advantaged position in anything. A Christian can be proud simply because, he or she knows Christ, whilst someone else is a perceived sinner. Pastors can be proud because of the control they have over many people. Singers can feel that without them, service cannot go on, not forgetting instrumentalists too. The education one has can make us feel superior to others. The type of car we drive can generate pride in us, likewise, many other circumstances can make us proud. After we have become proud, it now influences how we see others. We look down on them as not being our match or level. It is even more dangerous when we don't say anything, but just use our eyes and minds to analyze and condemn in our hearts. It is important we remember  who we are, and where we are, is by the help of God.

May we check ourselves if there are any signals of pride in us, so we deal with it quickly. Have a pleasant Sunday.

Prayer: Search me, if there is any pride in me, forgive me and help me to deal with it. Please empower me with the spirit of humility that was in Christ, through the Holy Spirit.
