17th Sept 2016 - Sat

1 John 3:2-3 (KJV)  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Knowing Jesus would come one day is good, but living in preparation for that coming is important. As a reminder, these verses were written to Christians who had already known Christ. However, there is the need to be reminded that, just being called a Christian is not enough to make it, when Christ comes. The type of Christian we are, makes the difference; striving for purity or just leaving any how. If we are not purifying ourselves with the blood of Jesus, through confession of sins and repentance, we would miss His coming. Let those who say, they are forever saved and so won't pray for forgiveness of sins, continue in that line: and let those who actually believe in the work of the cross, continue to purify themselves with the blood. It is just a matter of time, when those who kept purifying themselves won't regret it.

May we not be deceived that there is nothing to do again after coming to Christ. Have a blessed Saturday.

Prayer: Thank you for the grace that allows me to purify myself with the blood of Jesus.
