1 Corinthians 9:27 (KJV)  But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Our greatest resistance to our spiritual growth is our body; the body has no interest in heaven nor worried about hell, because it is just the container for the real person, ie your spirit and soul. So we must understand that we shall always face resistance and must learn to control it. It is very possible to put it under subjection, but it takes effort, self control, and ultimately how strong we are spiritually; There must be a stronger personality to overcome the strong body. This is where our spiritual growth is critical, because if we are weak spiritually, there is no way we can overcome the body. It is also possible to weaken the power of the body by starving it of its source of strength. The things we listen to and watch can also feed the body to be strong. For example, when you watch and listen to sexually explicit songs or movies; you are obviously feeding the body to be strong; so when you struggle with lust and sexual sins, the problem is the empowered body. To be continued.

May we be determined to grow spiritually every day. Have a blessed Tuesday.

Prayer: Ask for a fresh desire to grow spiritually and to hunger for holiness.
