Proverbs 6:16-17 (KJV)  These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

We are in the era where lying is seen as a form of expressing yourself in speech. Unfortunately, technology has even made it easier to lie. Someone is on a phone at point A in city B, yet he or she claims to be at point C at town D. It has become so common these days to lie, so even when you say the truth it is seen as being odd. Too often you would hear people say everyone is doing it, so it is OK. I heard of a case where a highly respected elder and wife in a popular church, were insisting someone should lie to get a visa to travel; When told it was wrong, their claim was, "then nobody can travel if we say the truth only". They don't see why a Christian cannot lie to get a visa. Yes, it may seem like everyone is doing it, but does that make it right? Is everyone the standard? God's word is final, so we can deceive ourselves by following the worldly standard of lying freely, but the truth remains the same. We can justify our lies, but must that be our lifestyle? No. We must not be known as liars if we are Christians. God still hates a lying tongue.

May we stick to the truth, because it pays to be truthful. Have a blessed Monday.

Prayer: Forgive me for making lying my lifestyle. Help me to live a life that pleases you.
